Vienna Café 1900
| exhibition
The importance of the Viennese café in the literary culture of Vienna at the turn of the century is well established. This exhibition focuses on the famous literary cafés of this period within the broader context of Viennese cafés and their role in the social life of Vienna. The well-known coffeehouses were part of a broad network of varying styles spread throughout the city with a history reaching back to the seventeenth century. They were used by different people in different ways and, together, constituted a hugely important and well-loved facet of Viennese life.
