The Delegation of the European Commission in
Washington, DC, is looking for a Special Advisor
in the Trade Section to include:
Monitoring general developments in US trade
policy, especially, with regard to China,
energy, labour, environment, export controls,
sanctions, government procurement;
Attending hearings and reporting on
legislative activity and other relevant work of
Congress; US/EC developments in industrial
sectors such as chemicals & automobiles;
Developing close relationships with US
Congress, administration officials, other
institutions and business organizations.
The successful interviewee will possess and be
able to demonstrate the following:
University Degree in Law, Economics or
other trade-related fields;
Two years practical experience related to US
legal, economic and/or trade issues and a good
understanding of EU policies; work experience
with Congress an asset;
The capacity to absorb and structure large
amounts of detailed information and report on
events/developments in short timeframes.
Package includes a salary range from $73K to $81K,
dependent on experience, and generous vacation,
health insurance and other social benefits.
