EU Boosts Funding for Research to Protect Citizens from Terrorist Attacks

In a move to increase protection against terrorist attacks, the EU has announced plans to boost funding for a range of new security research projects this year, including efforts to improve the detection of explosives - including liquids - at airports, protect drinking water supplies against biochemical terrorism, address urgent interoperability issues and standards for border security, and find new methods to prevent money laundering and financing of terrorist organizations.
