EU Foreign Policy Chief Honored for Peace Efforts

Javier Solana, European Union High Representative for the Common Foreign and Security Policy (CFSP), received the Carnegie-Wateler Peace Prize in The Hague last week. The Carnegie-Wateler Prize is presented every two years to a person or institution that has championed international peace. "In many ways, the search for democracy, justice and peace has been the guiding force of my political life," said High Representative Solana in his acceptance speech.
