European Union Film Showcase Opens in Washington this Week

The 2006 European Union Film Showcase opens this Thursday, November 2.  Presented by the American Film Institute (AFI) in collaboration with the Delegation of the European Commission and EU Member States, the Film Showcase features an internationally acclaimed selection of new European films through November 19. A total of 27 films -- including several official Oscar selections -- from 21 EU countries will be screened at the AFI Silver Theatre in Silver Spring, Maryland.
