EU Provides Fuel for Palestinian Hospitals

European Commissioner for External Relations Benita Ferrero-Waldner announced that the European Union is providing €600,000 a month for fuel to run hospitals in Gaza. Following the destruction by the Israeli Defense Force of the 6 transformers of the Gaza Power Plant, 45 percent of the population of Gaza is without electricity and power shortages are affecting all essential aspects of Palestinian life, in particular hospitals, which have now to rely on emergency generators.
