EU Insight Relaunch Focuses on Doha Round of WTO Talks

Today sees the relaunch of the Delegation's EU Insight, a publication designed to highlight the position of the European Union on topical and important issues in EU - U.S. relations.

In our first issue we have chosen as our focus the fate of the Doha Round of negotiations in the World Trade Organization where both the EU and the U.S. are key actors. In the aftermath of the suspension of negotiations in Geneva, EU Trade Commissioner Peter Mandelson sets out the view from Brussels on future prospects, arguing that a deal can still be salvaged. He outlines what in the EU's view needs to happen to revive the stalled talks: "None of us will get all we desire... But the costs of no agreement are far greater than the inconveniences of a less-than-perfect one." We hope you enjoy reading EU Insight and look forward to your feedback. MORE
