EU Launches $70 Billion R&D Program

This week the European Union launches its 7th "Framework Program," a $70 billion research and development program designed to boost European competitiveness and economic growth.  The seven-year initiative, the largest EU research investment to date, will fund: collaborative projects between research teams; Europe-wide competitive research grants; training and career development for researchers; and efforts to enhance research and innovation capacity across the EU.
