ITER Fusion Energy Project Agreement Signed

The European Union, the United States, Japan, China, India, the Republic of Korea, and the Russian Federation have signed the ITER agreement, formally establishing the new ITER Organization to take charge of developing the international nuclear fusion initiative.  The ITER project, to be headquartered at Cadarache, France, will seek to demonstrate the scientific and technical feasibility of nuclear fusion as an energy source.
