EU, U.S. to Cooperate on Environmental Research and "Ecoinformatics"

Under a new agreement concluded by the EU and the U.S., scientists and researchers from Europe and America will work closely together to address common environmental challenges through research and "ecoinformatics," or information science in ecology and environmental science.

The new bilateral research framework will bring together scientists involved in policy analysis research to consider such topics as environmental information systems and modeling, health and environment questions, sustainable chemistry and materials, nanotechnology and environmental technology, and air quality management.
