EU Environment Commissioner Dimas to Hold Internet Chat

European Union Environment Commissioner Stavros Dimas will hold an internet chat on Monday, October 15, to coincide with the first International Blog Action Day, which is dedicated to the environment.

"International Blog Action Day is an excellent initiative that will help to raise public awareness of the serious environmental challenges we face and to involve citizens in Europe and the rest of the world in contributing to solutions. This is also the aim of my blog. I look forward to a lively internet chat with a large number of participants," said Commissioner Dimas.

International Blog Action Day is seeking to achieve mass participation in addressing environmental problems by getting bloggers around the world to post entries on environmental issues that day. More than 10,800 blog sites with a combined audience of over 8.5 million readers have already registered for the event.
