ADVANCE MEDIA BRIEFING ON HAITI’S INTERIM COOPERATION FRAMEWORK (NEEDS ASSESSMENT)

Over the past two months, under the leadership of the Government of Haiti, international and national donors and experts have prepared an assessment of Haiti’s priority needs. Known as the Interim Cooperation Framework, this assessment, which details the Government's financial needs and priority programs over the next two years, will form the basis for technical discussions on July 19th and a Ministerial-level pledging conference on July 20.

The Interim Cooperation Framework report will be released to the public on July 13, 2004. The advance briefing, on Monday July 12, will offer members of the media an overview on the findings of the Interim Cooperation Framework from the following representatives:

• Barbara Szaszkiewicz, Country Coordinator for Haiti, the Inter-American Development Bank
• Caroline Anstey, Country Director for the Caribbean, the World Bank
• John Caloghirou (via teleconference), Director, DG Development, The European Commission
• TBC, United Nations.
