ADVANCE MEDIA BRIEFING ON HAITI’S INTERIM COOPERATION FRAMEWORK
(NEEDS ASSESSMENT)
Over the past two months, under the leadership of the Government of
Haiti, international and national donors and experts have prepared an assessment
of Haiti’s priority needs. Known as the Interim Cooperation Framework, this assessment,
which details the Government's financial needs and priority programs over the
next two years, will form the basis for technical discussions on July 19th and
a Ministerial-level pledging conference on July 20.
The Interim Cooperation Framework report will be released to the public on July
13, 2004. The advance briefing, on Monday July 12, will offer members of the media
an overview on the findings of the Interim Cooperation Framework from the following
representatives:
• Barbara Szaszkiewicz, Country Coordinator for Haiti, the Inter-American Development
Bank
• Caroline Anstey, Country Director for the Caribbean, the World Bank
• John Caloghirou (via teleconference), Director, DG
Development, The European Commission
• TBC, United Nations.
