European Union Trade Commissioner Peter Mandelson in US
EU Trade Commissioner
Peter Mandelson will be in Washington for an
official visit September 13-14 to meet with US representatives on the
multilateral trade agenda and some
bilateral EU/US trade issues.
During his two-day visit, Commissioner Mandelson will meet members of the
United States Administration, including the US Trade Representative Robert
Portman and Secretary of Agriculture Mike Johanns. On Capitol Hill,
Commissioner Mandelson will have bilateral meetings with the House of
Representatives Ways and Means Committee.
The Commissioner will deliver a speech at a National Press Club Luncheon
on Tuesday, September 13. Topic of the speech is: “The Right Choices for
International Trade and a Successful Doha Round.”
The National Press Club luncheon will begin promptly at 12:30 p.m. Remarks
will begin just after 1:00 p.m., followed by a question-and-answer
session. Reservations should be made by telephoning (202) 662-7501. Cost
of luncheon admission is $16 for National Press Club members, $28 for
their guests. The National Press Club is located at 14th and F Streets,
NW, one block west of Metro Center.
