Ambassador/Head of Delegation – John Bruton

Deputy Head of Delegation – Angelos Pangratis

Administration Section (Admin), Head – Frank Neumann
The Admin Section is responsible for provision of support services for the Delegation staff, building and residences--through the authorized allocation of budgetary resources, liaising with appropriate authorities in the European Commission and the US--including the US State Department--on all protocol and administrative matters related to EU officials.

Economic and Financial Affairs (EF), Head – Nigel Nagarajan
EF monitors and assesses US economic performance and liaises with US authorities dealing with economic, financial and monetary issues. It also liaises with the International Monetary Fund, World Bank and Multilateral Development Banks in areas of interest to the EU.

Food Safety, Health and Consumer Affairs, Head – Canice Nolan
This section maintains close contact with the US Administration, US Congress, industry and consumers in the above-mentioned areas.

Political, Development, Justice, Freedom and Security (PDS), Head – Luc Véron
This section follows all aspects of the New Transatlantic Agenda (NTA) and maintains close contacts with the US Administration and Congress on foreign and development policy, justice and home affairs and other issues including human rights. Section staff organize visits to/from the European Parliament and other EU institutions. The section also administers grant programs for the ten EU Centers of Excellence based in US universities, and for the EU-US policy research community. Further, this section serves as liaison between the EU and the international financial institutions based in Washington, DC, (World Bank, IMF, IaDB)--as well as the US aid agencies, e.g., US Agency for International Development (USAID) and Millennium Challenge Corporation (MCC). PDS closely monitors political developments in the US and maintains regular contacts with a broad range of Washington-based non-governmental organizations, think tanks and civil society in general.

Press and Public Diplomacy (PPD), Spokesperson & Head - Anthony Smallwood; Deputy Spokesperson & Deputy Head - Mattias Sundholm
Press and Public Diplomacy
has the crucial task of enhancing awareness of the EU in the US. It produces and distributes information materials, maintains the Delegation’s website, organizes speaking tours and deals with public inquiries. The section also maintains close contact with all US media; produces EU News Releases; provides the media with information and analyses of EU developments, positions and statistics. Media representatives may be added to the News Release distribution list on request.

Science, Technology and Education (STE), Head – Laurent Bochereau
STE maintains close contact with the US authorities at the Federal and State levels, research universities, national laboratories and the high tech industry. It processes information for the European Commission services in Brussels, Luxembourg and the JRC Institutes pertaining to trends in science, technology and education.

Trade and Agriculture (TRADE), Head – Nikolaos Zaimis
This section monitors trade and regulatory developments in the US, including agriculture. It works closely with the US Administration, Congress, business and NGOs.

Transport, Energy, Environment and Nuclear Matters (TEE),  Head – Luisa Ragher
TEE monitors and analyses US political, economic and regulatory developments in the areas of transportation, energy and environment. It works closely with the US Administration, Congress, business and NGOs.
