Announcement of Grant Competition: European Union Centers in the United States 2008-2011

The European Commission is pleased to announce a grant competition for the
European Union Centers of
Excellence program, inviting proposals from institutions of higher education
in the United States to support "European Union Centers of Excellence" during
the 2008-2011 period. These Centers will be expected to implement high quality
teaching, research and regional outreach programs with EU and EU-US themes.
Individual Centers will also be expected to participate in cooperative
activities within the national Network of EU
Centers of Excellence. The European Commission plans to award an estimated
11 grants of up to €300,000 each, with additional funding provided to the
institution selected as Network and Outreach Coordinator.
